Living Room

The centerpiece of our living room is our magnificent fireplace. Atop the fireplace resides our chapter's "Founder's Plaque," which bears the names of Psi U's first brothers. As most of you are aware, sometime in the late 1980s our original Founder’s Plaque was stolen. Thanks to Chuck and Lynn Werner, Omega '55 and '08(H), the Omicron has a new Founders plaque.

During the 2005 Psi Upsilon Convention in Chicago, Omicron brothers Dean Marinakis '90 and Matt DalSanto '04 mentioned that their plaque had been stolen. The Werners arranged to duplicate the Omega chapter's Founders' plaque for them.

The original was carefully removed from the brick wall on the Omega's front porch and taken to Orlandi Statuary Company in Chicago where a mold was made and cast, complete with copies of the original four screws. Except for the fact that the replica is not solid bronze, it is difficult to tell the difference between the original and the copy.

Brother Marinakis affixed the new plaque in its rightful spot atop an ebony base of his own crafting for all future Psi U's to enjoy. Many thanks to the Werners for their generosity and fraternal spirit.

Another major element in the living room is our grandfather clock, donated to the Omicron Chapter of Psi Upsilon Fraternity in memory of Scott Richard Connell '77, 5/21/55 - 1/8/75, by the Richard Connell Family. According to Brother Joe Miller '57, Brother Connell died while skiing on winter break 1/8/75.
