Eric Larson '73 recorded a capella versions of the Psi Upsilon song Soft The Shades and the Illini's Hail to the Orange.

As an amateur musician I do some home recording of a wide variety of music (rock, folk, country, blues, etc.) where I record all the tracks myself, one track at a time. Using this method, I recorded a capella versions of the Psi Upsilon song Soft The Shades and the Illini's Hail to the Orange. I have attached them in MP3 format. If you think you can use them on your website feel free to do so.

RIP - Henry Poor, Gamma '39

I am saddened to let you know that Henry Poor passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009. Last spring Henry was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and received treatment over the summer. He died on Sunday of heart failure at his home in Newtown Square, PA.

Prior to his diagnosis in March, Henry maintained his extraordinary commitment to his church, his family, and his fraternity chairing the Psi Upsilon Foundation scholarship committee meeting in Indianapolis before heading on to New Zealand for a family wedding.

A tribute and memorial to Henry has been established at the Psi Upsilon web site . There you may read tributes to Henry previously published in The Diamond, view a photo gallery, and leave your favorite memory of Henry.

Yours in the bonds,
Mark A. Williams, Phi '76 (Michigan)

Active Actives for 2009-10

We want to extend our congratulations to Andrew Chapello '10, Craig Lichtenberg '10, and Kevin Sanchez '10 on being selected for the 2009-10 "Active Actives" awards. Sponsored by the chapter alumni association, this program seeks to recognize juniors and seniors for their active participation in house activities by rewarding each with a $300 deduction off their housing contract. The alumni exec was impressed by their hard work for the chapter in a variety of executive positions, campus involvement, and scholarship.

Congratulations to these brothers, and many thanks to the alumni whose generous dues and contributions have made this type of programming possible.
