Tom Fox ’00Indianapolis, INAssociate Executive Director – Psi Upsilon Fraternity BA in Economics and Cinema Studies I spend much of the school year on the road working with undergraduate chapters and colonies of Psi Upsilon. I also assist with many other activities including billing, maintaining our member database, and helping with the annual convention and leadership institutes. I’m originally from North Aurora, IL and graduated from Marmion Military Academy. I attend a lot of concerts and sporting events and follow the Bears, Cubs and Illini fanatically. While an undergrad at the Omicron I served as Vice-President, Rush Chair, Pledge Educator, Social Chair and was also very involved in student government. I lived in the chapter house for all my 4 (and a half) years, half below ground in the Beta Chi and half above. My favorite memory of the Omicron is spending summers on the sundeck. |

Brad Corner ’72Executive Council - Secretary and former alumni term memberReal estate executive Seattle, WA BA in Economics, MBA - UIUC Brother Corner writes: "My info regarding Psi U service as an alum starts with returning to homecoming every year from 1971-present, with the exceptions of 1976 and 2002. Brother [Bill] King recruited me in 1981 to go to the international convention in vancouver, BC to help him lobby for the 1985 convention in Champaign. After working with both the Omicron and Theta Theta alumni in the 70s and eary 80s, Bill convinced me to contiue working on committees and attending over 20 conventions with a six year service on the Psi U Foundation (1996-2002) where I finished my final year as vice president. In 2006 Lew Finkelstein '83 and Matt DalSanto '04 and other board members encouraged me to serve on the executive council. My goal is to continue to help improve the fraternity and the Omicron chapter during this three year term. He continues, "My hometown in Illinois was Western Springs, Lyons Township High School(LT). During college my undergraduate degree was an AB in economics graduating in three years in 1971. My Psi U class year is 1972. In 1972 after a year working, I returned to Illinois as an mba candidate.with a postion (assistantship) coordinating short courses primarily at Allerton conference center for the Bureau of business management (BBM). After deciding to accept a sales position with service bureau company on the west coast, my assistantship was filled by another Omicron, and SBCs president was an Omicron class of 1950. "I transferred with SBC from California to Seattle, WA at the end of 1973 and met a neighbor who was the chapter advisor of the Theta Theta. In Seattle I met a lot of Theta Thetas and did some volunteer work with their chapter primarily in the 1970s. They have a great Founders Day every November with 170 -200 brothers (the largest gathering of Psi Us in the World!). "The last 30 years I have worked in the real estate industry in numerous capacities including sales, sales management, brokerage, vice president of a development company, and currently president of a small real estate investment and brokerage firm specializing in the development and disposition of sites and projects in western Washington state." |

Lew Finkelstein ’83Treasurer - International FoundationFoothill Ranch, California Partner in the CPA firm of Rossi Doskocil & Finkelstein LLP in Long Beach, California. I grew up in Wakefield, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, prior to attending the U of I from 1978-1982. I’ve been in public accounting since my graduation from the U of I in 1982. I moved to California in 1984 and have lived in Orange County since 1986. I’ve been married to Sheree Metzner, a Michigan native, since 1994. We have two boys, Joey born in 1999 and Michael born in 2003. I’ve been active with the Psi U International Organization the last ten years or so and am currently the treasurer of the Psi U Foundation Board. I very much enjoy the camaraderie of attending 2-3 out of town meetings per year and the annual convention with the good friends that I have made with the brothers involved with the International Organization. I have also been the President of the Orange County University of Illinois Alumni Club since 1992. I am an avid sports fan and San Diego Charger season ticket holder, a big Red Sox fan, and enjoy our usual annual vacations to Hawaii and Boston, trips to Las Vegas, attending my sons’ sporting events and playing golf whenever I can find time. I very much enjoy my typical annual trips to Champaign for Homecoming. The last few years we have hired several U of I grads for my CPA firm. |

Matthew R. DalSanto ’04I am currently serving as chairman of the Fraternity's Alumni Advisory Board. I am the voting representative of the board on the Fraternity's International Board of Directors or Executive Council. My last two years at Illinois, I served as one of the two undergraduate delegates to the Executive Council. Brothers Corner and Finkelstein encouraged me to continue my service to the international board after graduation, and so that following summer I ran for and was elected Chairman of the Alumni Advisory Board at its annual meeting which coincides with the Convention. Since the summer of 2003 I have been serving in this capacity. As an undergraduate at the Omicron, I served as the Treasurer, President, Pledge Educator, Philanthropy Chairman, Alumni Relations Chairman, and "Dress-Up Dinner" Chairman. My University activities included serving on LAS's General Education Committee, the Provost's Tuition Advisory Board, and running as an Independent for Student Trustee. I have many great memories, but one of the highlights was when we invited President Stukel to the chapter house for dinner. He accepted our invitation and we had a great meal prepared by the legendary Eloise and Gussie and an interesting Q&A session. I was also honored to head up the Sam Biardo Memorial Philanthropy for Organ and Tissue Donation for two years. We collected money for the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois and also disseminated information on campus about the common misconceptions of signing a donor pledge and the need to inform family members of one's wish to be an organ and tissue donor. My three favorite events as an undergrad were my pledge class's Pledge Dance, our Initiation Night, and our Walkout to the Epsilon Nu chapter (MSU). Since 2003 I have been in graduate school at the University of Minnesota. By October of this year, I will have completed my Ph.D. in Applied Economics and my M.A. in Economics. My research interests are at the intersection of Economics, the Law, and Political Science. While in the Twin Cities, I have had the opportunity to teach both introductory and advanced level economics courses as an instructor or adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota, Hamline University, and Macalester College. Though I can't help but to think my first time really teaching was as pledge educator at Psi U - and it was good practice! My current students occasionally give some of the same excuses. I have also served as a research assistant to Dr. Kent Olson at the "U" where I have worked to analyze various policy proposals on the commodity programs portion of the 2007 Farm Bill. This August I will be moving out to California to begin the J.D. program at UC-Berkeley (Boalt Hall). |
